Albums

The discography of American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their earlier efforts and was criticized for its lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by re-discovering old tapes and demos to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with Toto.
