The Best Self-Empting Robot Vacuum Bagless Cleaners

Customers who love this robot vacuum cleaner say it is powerful enough to deal with pet hair, dirt and dust on any type of floor. It comes with three cleaning stages and can be scheduled via a mobile app or voice control using smart speakers.

It's expensive, but this upgrade to a standard robot vacuum is worth the cost for a few. It has a large bin that needs to be emptied once every 30-60 days.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is equipped with two rubber multi-surface brushes that are designed to eliminate all types of debris from bare floors. It is a great choice for hard floors, and is great at sweeping larger particles and dust. However, it is unable to deal with pet hair. It is also able to blow particles such as kosher salt and kitty litter, which require an additional run.

The device has a Clean/Power Button in the middle, with Spot Cleaning and Home buttons on either side. The light ring around the Clean/Power button is solid white when it's charged, blinks red when the battery is low and shines blue when it's searching for its Clean Base in Dirt Detect mode (more on that below).

When the room's cleaning is complete, the robot vacuum with bagless self empty returns to its base, docking and then automatically emptying its internal dustbin into the Clean Base for self-emptying. You can manually empty the bin if it is full, but it takes an extended time and requires you to take the dustbin from the base and clean the filter.

In our tests, this machine had excellent suction on both hard floors and carpeting. Its mapping system for smart is superior to other systems, as it can store multiple maps and provide various functions, such as an individualized and scheduled cleaning. It doesn't allow you to create Keep-Out Zones or clean specific rooms, which is crucial for homes with more than one floor. If you want to use this feature, you may want to consider the Roborock Q5+ instead, that has a superior smart-mapping system and provides more options for customization in its user-friendly app.

2. Shark Matrix

Shark, one half of the home appliance conglomerate SharkNinja, is a relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum space. The company has risen in popularity quickly thanks to their large selection of robots at a reasonable price that are designed to the highest standards. The Matrix is their flagship model. It's a powerful, all-home cleaner that has incredible suction and clever features.

The Shark Matrix has a self-emptying base station that automatically empty after every clean, saving you the hassle of having to change out the bag. Like all Shark robots and models, the Matrix can be programmed to run according to a set schedule or remotely activated by voice commands for hands-free convenience. It also has cliff sensors to ensure that it doesn't fall off the steps and optical encoders that measure the extent to which it has cleaned.

The Matrix is a great option to anyone looking for a mid-range robot vacuum. It may not have the sophisticated vSLAM mapping of the Roomba S9 but it still has plenty to offer. Its cleaning route is effective on carpeted surfaces, and it can pick dirt from all surfaces. It also has a more powerful cleaning head than the S9 and a self-cleaning toothbrush roll that's ideal for pet hair.

Shark's app is frustratingly slow and unreliable when used with the robot. The iRobot HOME application however is definitely more intuitive and reliable.

3. Roomba i3 from iRobot

The Roomba i3 is our favorite robot vacuum model bagless self-emptying robot vacuum because of its outstanding performance on floors that are not bare and its premium construction. It is solidly constructed, moves effortlessly around obstacles, and recharges quickly. It also has a huge dustbin that is easily empty.

This Roomba model doesn't have an upper-mounted camera that can recognize objects or look for unique features to remember as some of its more premium models do. Instead, it utilizes downward-facing optical sensors to see obstacles when they arise and then creates an image of your floor plan when it goes through cleaning cycles, and pays close attention to internal sensors like wheel odometers and gyroscopes. iRobot's Genius update--which adds smart mapping without increasing the price of the robot - lets you direct it to clean specific areas using the iRobot Home app or your voice assistant.

When this Roomba is full of dirt - and it can be instructed to do so by an app or its docking station itself--it returns to its home base and empties its internal dustbin into the larger external one. The docking station and the robot also communicate via beacons to ensure that they're within a close proximity prior to the robot's start of cleaning.

You can also schedule cleanings from the iRobot Home app, or use your voice assistant to initiate the cleaning of any area that needs a quick fix. The dual rubber multi-surface brushes draw dirt, pet hair and other stubborn debris from hard-to-reach areas. The reactive sensor technology means you don't have to manually adjust the head height or suction power. Take a look at the Shark iQ Plus and Roborock S6 maxV if your preference is an experience that is more customizable.

Roomba from iRobot

This robot vacuum is one of the best bagless robot vacuum self-emptying models available. It comes with a dirt bin that automatically empties when full into the robot's base. It uses its own patent-pending Dirt Detect Technology to help it clean up dirtier areas in the room. The dual multi-surface rubber brush flexes to adapt to the floor's surface and help remove stubborn dirt. This is combined with a suction system that picks up and retains dust and dirt, and mopping solution tank that releases liquid to thoroughly clean your floors.

It's an excellent choice for bare floors and can even be used in a small amount of low-pile carpet. It doesn't clean pet hair as effectively as other models, and it can struggle to deal with large pieces of particles like cereal as the dirt container gets full. It's also a bit sluggish in its movement and can get caught up in things like rug tassels or electrical cords. It has a decent battery life and charges quickly.

The iRobot Combo i5 goes to the next step by adding mopping capabilities. Simply replace the Roomba Combo cleaning bin and the robot will instantly transform into an all-surface mop/vacuum robot. It can be controlled using the iRobot App or voice commands when linked with a smart assistant device.

It's better in cleaning low-pile and unfinished floors than the iRobot Roomba E5 because it includes an HEPA filter that blocks allergens. It's not as smart as the Shark AI Robot, bagless Sleek vacuum and it has more parts to clean regularly. It's more durable and has longer battery life, however it costs more to run.

5. iRobot i7 Roomba

The Roomba i7 is unique in that it has an automated dirt disposal system built into its base. When it's docked, a hose inside the Clean Base automatically sucks debris out of the bin and into a special bag that iRobot calls its Smart Maps. It's a neat, tidy way to dump your robot's bin. It also will save you the hassle of lifting out the old bin and letting everything fly around (which usually leads to small dust explosions). This top-rated model comes with a minimal operating cost. You'll have to purchase an additional bag each time your old one gets full. And, although they're not expensive but you'll feel guilty about throwing them away.

Once you get your i7+ and its Clean Base in place you can start it cleaning right away or tell it to take a couple exploratory non-vacuuming training runs first to create a floor plan of the area. Once you have a map of the space you can use iRobot's app to label rooms and create virtual barriers. You can also set the time for cleaning specific to certain rooms.

The i7+ robot vacuum is a top-of-the-line model. It's capable and has all the features that you'd expect from a house automation system however, it's costly and difficult to justify. The competition is a lot cheaper and includes features like the Roborock S7, which feels more durable, has lower recurring costs and has a longer maximum runtime and performs better on floors with no flooring than the i7+. If you're not 100% sold on having a persistent map of your entire home, we suggest you look elsewhere.eufy-clean-by-anker-robovac-g40-robot-vacuum-cleaner-with-self-emptying-station-2-500pa-suction-power-wifi-connected-planned-pathfinding-ultra-slim-design-perfect-for-daily-cleaning-3460.jpg
