What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

You've lost your Nissan key fob or it just stopped working. Before you call the dealership or panic, retrace your steps to check where you had it last.

Lockout Protection

Lockout protection eliminates lockouts caused by impedance problems. A specific module within the power control unit checks for the activity of the impedance relay, and then disables the output. This option is available on vehicles that are equipped with the Smart Key system, or by using the vehicle personalization menu.

Lock-out tag-out (LOTO) systems can help avoid these accidents by making sure that the machines remain off until a person authorized releases them.

The LOTO system is comprised of a series of locks, tags and other devices that are used to isolate, secure or block the machine from an electrical source. All "affected" and "authorized" personnel should be trained on the use of these devices. These devices include but are not limited to locks, chains padslocks, wedges adapter pins, and self-locking fasteners. Each device is clearly identified and labeled, with the date and time of its application as well as the name of the authorized individual, and the reason for the lockout or tag-out (repair or maintenance, for example). It must be stated clearly that these devices are not to be removed until the LOTO procedure is completed.
