Three Wheeled Buggies

If you're looking for a buggy to run around in or a compact stroller for neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies are great for mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver even in tight places.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres and look for models with 360deg front swivel wheels. They are susceptible, however to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.

New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies that were the symbol of the noughties that had more money than common sense, are in rapid decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers that can handle a wider range of terrain, while also looking elegant and easy to push.

It was able to handle grass, cobbles and rough pavements, as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it is solid to push and very solid when going over difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require occasionally pumping) have suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my children.

Another thing to consider is the size of the seat and shape. The seat should be large enough for your child to feel at ease and to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat that allows your child to lie flat and face you, whereas others only allow a face-to-parent one.

Easy to manoeuvre

One of the main benefits of a three-wheel buggy is that it can be much easier to maneuver especially with a child in the back. They are designed so that the front wheels can rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for terrains that are difficult, such as cobblestones, parks, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and wrote: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the terrain, with the swivel front wheel being particularly helpful. I was also amazed by the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was very stable in the downhills or on a rough terrain."

The only downside of this great mobility is that the 3 wheeled pushchair (read more on Google`s official blog) wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean that it will struggle in tight spaces, something to consider when you live in a city region. If this is a problem then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better choice for you.
